Our goal at MAYRA is to keep our viewers posted on the news that we think will be of interest to you. Most of it will be sailing related, but sometimes, we will surprise you with a blast from the past or a "random" post that will make you say, "Where did that come from?"
After all, we need to keep you on your toes and make you want to keep coming back to our site to see what is the latest and greatest NEWS FROM MAYRA.
FOLLOWING THE AVALON CUP, TUCKER THOMPSON - AKA - the "VOICE OF THE AMERICA'S CUP," GAVE A SPECIAL PRESENTATION AT CYCCM ABOUT HIS EXPERIENCES IN THE SPORT OF SAILING AND HIS EXTENSIVE WORK WITH THE AMERICA'S CUP - WHICH, AS WE ALL KNOW, HAS GONE THROUGH SOME MAJOR CHANGES OVER THE YEARS - SINCE "FOILING" & OTHER TECHNICAL ADVANCES (INCLUDING MATERIAL & ENGINEERING ADVANCES, HAVE BECOME A PART OF THE SPORT) - THIS "EXPERT" SPOKE ABOUT HOW SAILING IS EVOLVING AND HOW HE HAS SEEN THE SPORT CHANGE SINCE HE STARTED AS A YOUNG SAILOR! The RS Feva - a double-handed boat that is taking the sailing world by storm, is being sailed competitively and for fun all over the globe. Have you seen this boat?
MAYRA is interested in starting an RS Feva Class in our SJSS Regattas. It is the perfect boat for a sailor going from an OPTI to a double-handed boat (and who cannot really handle a C-420) or a Laser Sailor who would like to sail a double-handed boat. Check out this video of this amazing boat. LINK TO FEVA VIDEO
