2026 MAYRA youth racing - SJSS
The South Jersey Summer Series (SJSS) is for junior sailors from MAYRA Member and Associate Clubs between the ages of 8 and 18. Events will be conducted on Thursdays from June through August 2025. 2026 TEAM RACING EVENTS
Aug. 7 - TEAM RACING for NICKERSON CUP @ CYCCM
The Nickerson Cup was not awarded for several years due to the falling off of TEAM RACING in MAYRA. In 2018, this TEAM RACING event was resurrected and thus the challenge for the Nickerson Cup returned. The event has been a huge success - last won by the Corinthian Yacht Club of Cape May in 2023.
TBD - OPTI TEAM RACING @ TBA
New in 2025, MAYRA is adding an Opti Team Race regatta to the calendar. This 4v4 team race format is challenging and a ton of fun for our younger racers. The team from Avalon Yacht Club took the title in 2025 in this first of its kind MAYRA event!
2026 Mid-atlantic midgets championship (must qualify)
Each YRA (Yacht Racing Association) from the Chesapeake Bay to New York's Long Island area may enter two boats in the single-handed (Opti) and double-handed (C420) classes. There are age restrictions for each class to qualify, as well.
